Which parts of you are you hiding?

Early in my Lead with Confidence programme, I ask everyone to create their ‘Future You.’
My current group (all female) was doing this exercise, and they pictured someone who had it together.
She’s clearer, bolder, braver.
She doesn’t get knocked off course.
She knows exactly what she stands for – and it shows.
And there’s usually this unspoken assumption that this amazing person will magically show up once she’s read more, achieved more or worked through a few more knotty challenges.
But that’s not it.
She’s the part of you that already knows what matters.
The one who doesn’t waste energy over-explaining.
The one who chooses where to put her attention.
She’s the one who knows that quiet confidence is built on solid ground. It can’t be knocked over or destroyed with one mean comment.
You don’t have to “become” her one magical day in the future. You are becoming her every day. You just need to let her take the lead more often.
That’s exactly what we’re doing together right now.

Because quiet confidence is powerful, it’s grounded. It’s real.
We’re not trying to create ‘fake it ‘til you make it’ surface-level flash.
We’re finding inner wisdom that goes way beyond tools and techniques.
We’re outing the saboteurs in our heads.
We’re discovering the pieces of ourselves we’ve been ignoring – the succinct, playful, curious, direct, creative, authoritative or compassionate version of ourselves—the side we’ve rarely let into the light. The one that gives us true confidence from our core.
P.S. My current group is all female, hence the word “SHE” throughout this post. My #1 bestselling book Leader Unlocked provides much more information on how to create the leader you want to become.
