Why ‘anticipating success’ is a great way to start your day
If you’re reading this first thing, get in your time machine and imagine you’ve reached the end of the day.
There you are, at the end of your day. Ask yourself ‘why was today so successful for me?’.
Once you can answer that question you’ll know exactly what to do next to get the most out of the day ahead.
Now, get back in the time machine and focus on those very same things.
Why does this work?
When you start your day by anticipating success, your brain primes itself to notice opportunities, resources, and solutions. This mindset increases the likelihood that you’ll take action in a way that aligns with what you want to achieve.
Doing this daily, strengthens the neural pathways associated with positive thinking (not the same as toxic positivity) and goal achievement. And the dopamine will kick in giving you the boost you need to get moving and perform at your best.
Anticipating Success is one of the Six Core Beliefs for Unshakeable Confidence I cover in my soon-to-be-launched book Leader Unlocked: How to grow your confidence, influence and impact for leadership success.
There are lots of simple but powerful practical activities like the one I’ve just shared with you in the book.
(Forty four activities to be precise.)
